Have you or one of your travel buddies ever been injured while on vacation? What happened?

no never been "injured", once though I did fall asleep laying on my stomach in the sun at the beach. I got a really really bad sun burn
Yes when I was younger I cut my forehead open in the United Kingdom, think it was Norfolk in a supermarket.
I was with my parents and sister at the time,
While with my parents in Montana, we hit an elk on the way back from Old Faithful...fortunately, no one was injured (save the elk).
yes whyle skiing cross country i fell offa short cliff & broke my arm pretty badly but ther just happind to be 3 count them 3 wikid cute doktorz well one wuz akshuly a geologist but enyway they took gud crra me till i got to hospital it wuz fun

so i was in bermuda. and our room was separate from the lobby, where they sell snacks and stuff. so me and my brother were walking up to the lobby to get snacks. i got my fiji water like i really wanted because i'd never had it before and my friend made a huge deal out of it being so good, so i wanted to try it. ANYWAY, we were walking down the extremely steep pathway back to our room and i was reading the back of the fiji water bottle. all of a sudden, i trip, i go TUMBLING down this hill, roll into the bushes, the water goes flying, and i'm just laughing. so i yell to my brother "FIND THE FIJI WATER!" (i'm not kidding). so after he finds it, he helps me up and i'm just laughing out of disbelief and i take the water from him and notice i have an ENORMOUS gash on my hand. it was swelling. then i started crying and we walked back to the room slowly (i twisted my knee) and blahblahblah i still have that scar on my left hand =|
i've been hospitalized for 3 months -_- in vietnam no less.... (it's never good to be in a 3rd world country for an emergency surgery)
I was hospitalized once in Dominican Republic, I forget for what I think it was some kind of virus and another time I went I got a cold (of all the viruses to catch on a tropical island...). Not really injuries but I was still unwell lol.
Yep. I was on vacation in NY, fell on a concrete floor, and fractured both the bones in my wrist...badly. Didn't get it set and casted for three days, til I got back home.
Hrmm would being temporarily deaf in one ear count? I was on a plane landing in California and I didn't "pop" my ears while everyone else did. I spent the rest of the day not being able to hear what people were saying cuz my left ear was blocked.
Actually it wasn't even a normal vacation. No, it is was our honeymoon. Thankfully we only had a few more days left and had already spent a great deal of time there, so it didn't completely ruin it. We were going into some place and my knee for whatever reason decide hey I want to pop out of place. So yeah...not fun times. My husband was so sweet though. It was so hard for me to get around. Pretty much all I could do half way comfortable was lay on the couch. So he took care of me and got me whatever I needed.
3x, i suppose. the first time while playing on some rocks in the ocean next to the 'do not play on rocks' sign, i tripped and sliced part of my big toe off, only i didnt realize anything was wrong until the water started being filled with blood. i was a lot more concerned by he idea of drawing sharks then keeping my toe, but after removing some barnacles and getting stitches all was well.
2. about 5 years prior, also in florida, had to get stitches at the shell factory, ha.
and 3... i dont think really counts completely, because i wasnt truly injured, but did have to go the the hospital while on vacation in wisconsin. my sister had asthma and had run out of inhalers, but wasnt covered by insurance at the time. so my mom made me go to the hospital and fake an asthma attack - and when the doctor stated that i seemed (suprise, suprise) fine, she made me do jumping jacks frantically everytime he left the room so that i seemed out of breathe until he finally prescribed an inhaler. ahah-ha.

I never injured before when vacation, but my travel buddies was injured but just a small small case...

The worst thing that ever happened to me while on vacation was when I went on a cruise the summer after graduating from HS. Not only did I get pink-eye in both eyes the day I was supposed to fly home from the port in Florida, but thanks to the hurricanes, we got stuck in FL another 48 hours.
Double infection + stuck in another state + no parents = a bad idea.
I ended up having to be rushed by my friend's family down to an emergency clinic so I could get the prescription. The flight home was terrible.. but my mother and boyfriend waiting in Jersey thought it was all pretty funny.
Never have a ever fallen off a bike, and i shouldve never said never. Went to Puerto Rico for like the bagillionth time in my life, and i rode a friend's bike in a skirt, and went over a sewage gate thing that was stretched across the street and the front tire got stuck, i went flying and the bike landed on top. I got up with a huge cut[not deep] on my leg, scraped my entire arm and my left shoulder. I couldnt get into any beach waters because the salt would burn my cuts, and i had bad sunburn on all my scrapes lol. Good times..
I am maladroite so I often injured myself (family thing lol).
One day on the beach, i Put my hand on a hook : go to the doctor and had a big plaster for the rest of the holiday (and later on...).
My father did the best wound I never saw on Holidays : he broke his two elbows ! We were cycling, and he went on a bycross pist make of... sand, dust and rocks... We were on an isolated place, fireman took a lot of time to come, my father was fainted and made a tetania crisis... Awful !! But at the hospital, when everybody learned that he just have broke his two elbows, everybody laughed : it is so rare and ridiculous !
He couldn't work for about three or four months, poor he ^^
i fell down a couple of stairs at our hotel. i ended up breaking my foot but didn't realize it was broken and tried to "walk it off" it only got more swollen and painful, i was also in my last trimester of my pregnancy. (luckily baby wasn't injured at all!)
does stomach flu count as an injury?

I got stunk by a jellyfish in FLorida once. And when I was in 7th grade my family went to visit my cousins on Mother's Day. We were jumping on the trampoline and I broke my ankle and had to have surgery.

No, but I almost got struck my lightening.
I went on a 3 day cruise to the Bahamas over break and I caught the flu. I had a 104 degree fever and was delusional. I had to go to the infermery and had an IV.
broke my ankle playing tennis in the Dominican Republic. hobbled around for the duration of the trip assuming it was sprained. found out 6 weeks later that i was wrong.
