  • Upcoming Events in Your Town

Too Shy for Nude Beaches by Anne

It's always fun to see what's going on around town. Here are a couple events coming up in New York City that I plan to attend.

For anyone who wants to join in on the Lunar New Year celebration, one event to see is the Lunar New Year Parade this Sunday, February 1st, in Chinatown. The parade starts at 3 p.m. and will be going down Mott Street, Chatham Square, East Broadway, Allen Street, Grand Street and Chrystie Street.

And in the spirit of New York City's Restaurant Week, there are amazing discounts for Off-Broadway Shows called 20 at 20, meaning "20 bucks. 20 minutes before." This offer is only valid until next Friday, February 8th. Get your tickets.

If you're in the mood, like me, to play in the snow and are in or around New York City, a fun event to go to might be Winter Jam 2009 in the East River Park.
    Event Details:

    • The Future of Snowboarding Invitational
    • Sledding on a 70-foot long Snow Flume
    • A snow sculpture contest*
(Register in advance to guarantee a spot in the contest).
    • Ice climbing wall
    • Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing*
    • High flying trampoline entertainment from The Skyriders
    • Pride of NY Warming Hut & Winter Market
    • Live music from Apollo Run, Dujeous, and more!

What's going on in your town this weekend?

    • About Me: Age: 27, Location: New York, NY Favorite places I've visited: Trick question! I've been to so many amazing places, but if I absolutely had to pick, I'd settle on a couple places to shorten the list. Madrid, Spain because that's where I did my study abroad program when I was 18 and it was there that the travel bug bit me so hard it left a scar. I haven't been the same since. And Vietnam. That's where my family is from. Although, I'm Vietnamese American, I never actually visited Vietnam until I was 26. It was an awesome experience to learn about my family's history and I was quite pleased to show off my vietnamese language skills to the locals. It's quite a big deal for an american-born.
