  • How's the Weather in Your Neck of the Woods?

This is how it looks in my neck of the woods in New York City, New York. I have family and friends in Southern California who are telling me that people are walking around in shorts and T-shirts. I couldn't believe it! Well, I guess I can because I used to live there, but 80 degrees in the middle of January? Come on. That's just crazy, right? Even for California. I couldn't wear shorts and a T-shirt here unless I wanted to get frost bite. It's been quite chilly out.

There are Tripcrazed readers from all over the world. I was curious how the weather was like in your area. Australia definitely has to be different since it's summer over there. And I know some South East Asian countries are more tropical all year long. Hawaii pretty much stays the same all year long too.

How's the weather like in your area? Is it cold, warm, or pretty much stays the same all year long?

It's absolutely freezing! And we're supposed to be getting a lot of snow tomorrow.

Ungodly cold. At least it's (barely) above 0 though, finally.

My neck of the woods is Tennessee, U.S.A. and right now there is a large area of rain and freezing rain over northern west and middle TN. Temperatures range from 37 degrees F in Memphis to 34 degrees F in Nashville to 41 degrees F in Knoxville. The forecast for all of these areas for today is 100% rain. So it's pretty safe to say that i will not see the sun at all today.

    I <3 weather!

I live in Toronto so it's really FREAKIN cold here. It's been -30degrees celsius with windchill for the past week. Hate winter so much.

  • TakingxOverxMe@xanga

Right now, it's 57 degrees and windy here in Riverside, Cali..
    But I am freezing.

  • MyFreedomWings@xanga

It's 22 F here, and they say we're about to get buried by a couple feet of snow (to add onto our several inches we already have)...out here in Ohio.

Technically, this feels like a heatwave, since for the first half of this month it didn't want to get over 20 below.

In Ladysmith BC it is cold and snowed most of the day.....Might even be snowing now, but I"m in my cavelike basement so I have no Idea :P

Sweet! StuyTown, the best place to live in Manhattan.  Anyway, the weather around here is currently 20 something, which feels ok.  I came from Southern California which has pretty good weather all year long, which is boring.  The changing weather makes life much more exciting and prepares you for the worst.

The weatherman called for 4 inches of snow from 5:00 this afternoon to midnight, and then at least and equal ammount after midnight. I'm in central Ohio, btw,

It is hot, sunny & humid in beautiful South East Asia, alright- Malaysia to be exact.

It's about 30 degrees Celcius right now, and at night it'll drop to a minimum of 26 I reckon.

Australia is having a heatwave- in Perth I think it's abt 31 today. Very, very hot. And dry. But oh well, the beaches are always nearby & I miss those!

    @tubbz87@datingish - GASP! -30 degrees C?!? I couldn't imagine.

  • lilacros3s@xanga

korea is cold this time of year.  some parts are snowing, its cloudy and gloomy but i love it and no its not healthy for socal to be sunny and hot during the winter time.  its a sign of global warming.

florida.  typically has 2 seasons. hot and rainy.  however, this year, after leaving freezing nyc/jersey to return to warm, sunny florida, i returned to record cold weather...!  i actually had to de-ice my car windshield two days straight!!  in fl, this is unheard of!  must've brought it back down with me :P

what i hate is that it jumps back and forth constantly--SO easy to get sick!  hot cold hot cold cold hot...!

from places i've visited, 1 degree from equator singapore included (also like FL weather--hot and rainy)...shanghai took the cake.  the summers are hot/humid to the nth degree, much worse than FL which i didn't know was possible...and the winters bitter bone-chilling cold beyond your wildest dreams.  extremes!

I've been to so many amazing places, but if I absolutely had to pick, I'd settle on a couple places to shorten the list. Madrid, Spain because that's where I did my study abroad program when I was 18 and it was there that the travel bug bit me so hard it left a scar. I haven't been the same since. And Vietnam. That's where my family is from. Although, I'm Vietnamese American, I never actually visited Vietnam until I was 26. It was an awesome experience to learn about my family's history and I was quite pleased to show off my vietnamese language skills to the locals. It's quite a big deal for an american-born.
