I’ve been getting emails and offers from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas ever since we went two years ago.  A few months ago I was in the midst of researching a trip to the Grand Canyon when into my email box came an offer to good to refuse from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas  The only catch was that I had to book within the week.  I checked airline prices and booked that day.  We're on our way next week for a five day stay in a nicer room than our previous trip and we're saving $1000.00.  Money that I used to book some good show tickets!  Because I booked so early I’ll be sitting front row center.

It's amazing the deals that are pouring into my email box these days.  The biggest mistake I made a couple of years ago when I started traveling for work and for fun was to not sign up for every perk plan I could find.  I started signing up for them all about six months ago and as the seasons and the economy change I am getting inundated with fantastic offers.  On Friday I received a $200.00 off coupon code from Travelocity.  I'll use it for work travel because it doesn't fit into my vacation plans, so now not only will I upgrade my hotel a little bit but my bosses will also be very happy with my money saving.  Anyone who travels for business knows that it's much better to be the one no one ever has to question about an expense.

Even if you're not planning a trip right now, create yourself an email address just for travel information and sign up for everything. It's a great way to get ideas, and sometimes fantastic discounts, especially for spur of the moment mini vacations.  Sign up at all of the hotel chains, even the ones that you don’t’ think you will ever be able to afford.  You may be surprised at the deals that you find.
