Sunsets and sunrises provide for some of the most beautiful pictures and moments on trips.
Where was the best sunset or sunrise that you ever saw? Who were you with?

Best Sunrise was in Africa. It rises very quickly, but it puts up the most beautiful colors. The best sunset would have to be when I was on a cruise ship in Hawaii. That was a gorgeous one.
Nahoon Beach, East London, South Africa with my running partner.
Hangzhou, China with my boyfriend.
Not actually a setting or sunrise, but When i was driving to Houston Texas, from St Louis Missouri, i was coming through some mountains near Texarkana, and as i came to the top of this very heavily wooded area on top of a mountain, the trees broke and i could see a beautiful moon through the tree tops, it was the most breath taking view I had ever seen, I pulled over on the side of the road, just so i could get out and witness it a little longer. I could hear the sounds of the darkness around me, and feel the cool mountain air, and it looked as though i could just reach up and touch the moon, it was so beautiful.
wow, i bet everyone above me saw such beautiful sunsets, but the prettiest one i saw was when i was at the grand canyon with my best friend. it looked like a painting.
I love it when I'm on vacation in Daytona Beach, FL. I get to watch the sun rise out of the ocean every morning. Very nice.
I seen one in Greece with family and once or twice in the United Kingdom, at home looking out of the window.
I saw a really beautiful sunrise when I went to Mt. Tremblant in Quebec and hiked up a hill with my parents.. but I didn't get a picture of it =(. As for sunsets, I usually see some gorgeous ones when I look out at my backyard.
manila bay harbor with a friend.
The best sunset i've ever seen was from my front porch.

Here's the picture. I was with no one really. Well, my family and one other person were just inside.
Best sunset I have ever seen happened in Cancun, Mexico. I have never seen something so beautiful and, while standing there, I felt the possibility of heaven on earth. I was alone actually, which made it better. Sometimes, sunsets should be enjoyed completely alone.
The best sunset I saw was actually in Illinois, just south of Wisconsin. The clouds looked like valleys and mountain ranges and valleys. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing and beautiful beyond imagination. I have seen few sunrises and those that I have were on very cloudy days where you saw the sun after it was above the horizon, and in Hawaii I was on the west side of Oahu and so the volcano blocked the sunrise and our room faced north so we never caught an actual sunset.
Here in New Mexico. They are different everyday, and simply incredible. I photograph tons of them for my deviantart account, www.ladycallie.deviantart.com
I think desert sunsets/sunrises are probably the best!
I've been to both coasts of the US, I've been to a Mediterranean island nation, and I've been various other places. And yet, my favorite sunset location? On the Indiana Dunes by Lake Michigan. There's nothing that compares to watching the sun dip below the lake, while the clouds turn hues of pink, orange, and purple behind the starkly contrasting skyline of Chicago, 30 miles away.
In Santorini. Sunsets so breath-taking that you wonder how your life would have been had you not seen a sight so beautiful. I was with my bf.
i have one posted on my flickr...well, a few actually, if you go to the second page too

send me messages, tell me what you think
We'd been travelling all day in the desert and finally got unlost and made it to the Hoover Dam-hours behind schedule, but it was worth it, because the sunset was amazing. The five of us college friends climbed to the top of a hill overlooking the dam and sat down and talked about life while feeling at the top of the world.
i was in the caribbean recently and the sunset was fantastic :) i think every sunset is beautiful, really. same goes for sunrises but i'm usually not up for those. over the summer i was in huangshan and woke up early for a sunrise... it was stunning!
The Callie poster above hit it on the head. New Mexico (especially the southeastern part) has the best sunsets ever. Ever.
i saw a sunrise at myrtle beach SC with my dad. it was the most beautiful thing ive ever seen, truly inspirational
i go to long beach island new jersey every summer, and i saw a beautiful sunset after a long day in the ocean. it was over the bay, not the beach, which was surprising. but it was amazing.
My uncle has a house in maryland with a river in the backyard. They're are always really awesome sunsets there.
Flying east to Boston in the wee hours of the morning, I got to watch the sunrise over most of the eastern seaboard. It was so gorgeous to watch the orange sun rays spread through the sky of deep blue
My favorite sunrise was from the top of Haleakale (means: house of the sun) on Maui. You are situated on the top of a dormant volcano, looking out at a vast sea of clouds that resembles an endless snowcovered plain, and then the sun begins to peak its head up over the distant clouds. Its a really moving experience.
sunrises are prettier.
