Too Shy for Nude Beaches

During a visit to the French Riviera in Nice, France, my friends and I ventured onto a sandy beach near the road. We walked along the shore, and enjoyed the scenery, until all of a sudden--like the typical guy that he is--my guy friend yells out, "Nice!"
When I turned to look at what he was referring to, I saw a very nicely-tanned female lying on her towel in the sand, proudly wearing her birthday suit! This isn't the sort of thing I was used to back in my neck of the conservative woods of Orange County, California. I don't have a problem with exhibitionism, but you just didn't see naked people in Huntington Beach or Newport Beach. They'd be arrested for indecent exposure.
I looked around because I was curious and I saw a few other naked men and women, but not everyone. Maybe it wasn't a nude beach, per se, but being in the buff was definitely allowed.
Have you been to a nude beach or would ever go to one?

I've been to so many amazing places, but if I absolutely had to pick, I'd settle on a couple places to shorten the list. Madrid, Spain because that's where I did my study abroad program when I was 18 and it was there that the travel bug bit me so hard it left a scar. I haven't been the same since. And Vietnam. That's where my family is from. Although, I'm Vietnamese American, I never actually visited Vietnam until I was 26. It was an awesome experience to learn about my family's history and I was quite pleased to show off my vietnamese language skills to the locals. It's quite a big deal for an american-born.

No to both parts of this question.
I've never been, and don't really intend to.
However, there was one occasion I was highly tempted to. There is a beach in Maui with red sand. I'd been to other Hawaiian beaches and collected sand from their green sand beach and black sand beach. However, apparently this red sand one was in a nudist area.
I didn't go. Haha.
@Lizbeth8207@xanga - Haha, maybe you could have sneaked on to the beach really quickly so you could pick up some of that red sand to go with your collection. I'm really interested in the red and green sand. I've only seen the black sand beach.
Never been but wouldn't be opposed to it if offered. I don't see a problem with being comfortable enough to do that. I think people need to grow up and learn there's nothing wrong with showing off the human anatomy. And they wonder why youth these days are so curious and exploratory.
I used to live in Maui, Hawaii and we had a few nude beaches. One that was more well known and they finally set up a law to ban from being nude there. Of course no one followed it. I never ventured there, nude or clothes. Mostly old men & women running around didn't appeal to me much. And I feared if I did end up going nude I'd surely run into someone I knew from school or someone who knew me.
It is a dream of mine to either become a nudist for a week/weekend or to go to a nude beach. As soon as I get rid of this self consciousness.
I have been streaking/skinny dipping on the beach at night before. Boy What a rush it is!
I wouldn't go and I would never want to! My body is not for other people to see. I understand that for some people it's okay, but for me it's not, so I will pass.
We have a nude beach here - but nobody goes there

I've never been and I don't know if I'd ever go, I'd be too busy trying not to stare
when my husband and i were on our honeymoon in moorea and bora bora, we noticed european females and some males were completely naked at the beaches. we didn't mind and did our own thing.
i've been to a topless beach in St. Barts(I didn't go topless.)
and no i would not go nudeFor the first time in my life, I saw a few nudie women (and only women!) at the Barceloneta Beach in Barcelona... and I was shocked, to say the least. And then my American girlfriend went topless. I was definitely too shy to do it myself, so I didn't. But it was an experience, to say the least. Hahaha.
Yes, I've been to nude beaches. Had a great time.
Since I'm not a big fan of sunbathing anyway I wouldn't do it - prefer to keep myself covered up and not burn
Heck yeah! I've been to nude beaches and happily laid out in the nude on several occasions. It's wonderful, its freeing, and often times where it is accepted- people are not up tight or perverts about it. Its as if our bodies are a FACT of life and not something thats spooky or perverted.
You go to America of course, and we see nudity so differently than a lot of Europeans. It is Americans that make it weird and strange.... but the body itself is not weird or strange at all.
Seeing it is not shameful!
yeah i was in france over the summer and when i went to the beach and i saw that some people were naked but not all of them ofcourse i didn't take of my cloths it wasn't even comfertable for be seeing people walking around nakes so there was no way lol
BTW: i think we went to the same beach becuse it was also nice but i remember that there were stones instead of the sand
@Hope4Skinny@xanga - You know what? I've been to so many beaches and I was in Nice so long ago. Now that you mentioned it, I think that beach might have had stone too. We were probably on the same beach! =)
Ooo I definatly want to go on one, I'd like to feel comfortable around nudity and being nude - I find it hard to know where to look in the changing rooms at the gym at the mo.
i wouldn't do so where it's guys and girls together... but in asia, you take public baths naked with your same gender only and i'm ok with that

I've never been to one, but I definitely want to. I'd totally do it. Yep.
I'd go to ones where everyone is nude - that way I won't feel like some unwanted staring is in play.
