Guest blog by Ms_Moca I'd do it again. Over and over and over again. And when I'm not doing it. I'm thinking about doing it. And when I'm not thinking about doing it, I dream about doing it. And when I'm not dreaming about it, I'm doing it cuz when I did it, I caught it. I caught... (
gasp) the travel bug.
It started in Shanghai when I met my boyfriend. He's got it worse. So bad that he can't stay still. Not even in his sleep. (He twitches.) And now I've got it too. No, not the twitches. The travel bug.
First it was Wuzhen. A short day trip to one of the few remaining villages on water. The paths were narrow and to be honest, I can't remember much.
My brain was running on an hour of sleep from partying the previous night. All I remember is this Chinaman making noodles. This is the first and only genuine smile I've ever seen on a Chinaman's face.
Then it was Suzhou. It's about 15 minutes from Shanghai on the train. It was a charming place away from the pollution in Shanghai. The air was crisp and light. Perfect day trip to visit the Tiger Hill Pagoda (
below).
The next day was Hangzhou. The Boyfriend and I were mesmerized. It was such a romantic place. I don't know how any can come here and not get pregnant.
We weren't going out then but we wouldn't have enjoyed it as long as we did if we were ;] I was the genius who suggested to walk around the entire Xihu (
West Lake).
I don't remember how many miles it was but it took us 4 hours. Needless to say, we were exhausted. I loved Hangzhou so much we stayed an extra night. Problem was, we only had one pair of underwear and it was the pair we were wearing.
The Boyfriend had the brilliant idea of writing a book about our travels titled "A Pair of Boxer & Panty". This was the beginning of our China travels.
Have you been bit by the travel bug? Where do you plan to go?

I think next year we are planning on going to Egypt.
And possibly later in the year a coach tour which including Croatia, Lithuania and Estonia etc (or possibly the coach tour of Croatia) it all depending on what deals we can get, we might even decide to go back to Greece on holiday.
haha did you like hangzhou that much? i've been there several times, it's too hot for my liking and the traffic is terrible
I love-love-love-love to travel! I want my next big adventure to be Russia. <3
@black_lie@xanga - I LOVED Hangzhou. I went during the fall in November and the weather was perfect. The traffic wasn't much either.
I've only been to Shenzhen in China, but maybe one day I can go to other places there :)
@bella@revelife - My grandparents live in Shenzhen. Last time I visited, almost every block was under construction building condos or department stores
